⚖️3rd grade!! In math, we are finding items around the room that weighed grams and kilograms. 🏟️4th grade preparing for their concert on Monday with a little practice! Wow, they are sounding 👍🏽

🕶️⭐️School is out for students today, but our staff is here! Here is a glimpse of some of our engagement and collaboration breakout sessions from this morning after our whole group trainings.

😊Dress like a teacher and dress like a student was a successful spirit day! Here are a few look-a-likes that we caught today!

Congratulations to these students for earning September's Key of "INTEGRITY". They demonstrate positive personal values in all they do and say.

❎Kindergarten is working on their letter X for their alphabet exchange! They turned them into pirate maps for “x marks the spot”. Kindergarten will send 25 of these Xs to 25 different schools around the US and get the other 25 letters of the alphabet back from those 25 different schools around the US. 🎤Mrs. Packard’s class answering a question of the day using Q-Bert, their microphone ball, before starting their Second Step lesson.

🪨🗒️✂️2nd grade PE playing one of their favorite games of rock, paper, scissors as teams. 🔟 2nd grade Counting groups of ten. Then will count groups of 100 to one thousand. ☀️🕶️3rd grade enjoying recess and meeting the SH Thunderbird

Today is pajama day. Students need to bring a pair of athletic shoes for recess and PE. Tuesday is favorite athlete/sport day. Wednesday is hat day. Thursday is dress like a teacher day. Friday is PTO field trip t-shirt day.

❤️TSOUTH FAMILY TIME!! Today we had our first TSouth family time of the year. This is designed to not only contribute to the personal growth of each student, but also the overall culture of respect and understanding within your school. Family groups are the same each year, except when 6th graders leave at the end of the year, we then add the new PreK and K students. This is a favorite day each month for all involved 🩵

❤️💙⚽️ We had a few members of the Shawnee Heights boys soccer team visit this morning. They helped greet our students, welcomed everyone at morning assembly, and stayed a bit to join 5th grade PE class. Tonight is ELEMENTARY NIGHT at their home game. JV starts at 4:30 and Varsity at 6PM. Elementary students get to walk onto the field with players during varsity introductions. Tomorrow, they have a free mini clinic for Grades K-6 at Bettis, 5:30-6PM ⚽️GO HEIGHTS!!!⚽️

🎨For the first art project of the year, every 1st-6th Grade student created a self-portrait! Students were asked to only use their FAVORITE color when coloring in their self portrait so we could then put it together in a GIANT school 🌈 Which turned out AH-MAZINGGGGG!
